Lawn & Shrub Care FAQ's

We recommend waiting to mow the grass until 24 hours after your visit to allow for the best results.

While Taylor Anthony 365, prefers the lawn not to be mowed for 24 hours after an application, mowing will not harm your lawn.

Please try to have any cleanup completed before your first visit.  The first application contains a crabgrass pre-emergent which acts like a protective barrier.  If the barrier is disturbed, it is weakened and this increases the likelihood of a crabgrass breakout.

If the application consists of a granular product, the technician might spot-treat any weeds while he is there. Please don’t water the lawn for at least 2 hours after the visit. Liquid applications require a minimum of 2 hours to dry before watering the lawn.  Light rain would not be a problem, but we want to avoid the product being washed away.

Grubs are off-white larvae of beetles that feed on the roots of your lawn. Look for signs of random patches of wilted or brown turf. If your lawn feels spongy and easily pulls away from the soil, grubs may already be at work. A lawn can withstand up to 20 grubs per sq. foot, but activity should be monitored. Don’t panic if you find them, but please make the office aware! Grubs are commonly found in landscape beds, but this is not a definite sign that they are actively feeding on the lawn. Please email the office and we will come out to take a look.

Chinch bugs are small insects that belong to the family Blissidae. They are notorious for damaging lawns, particularly St. Augustine grass, which is common in Florida. Adult chinch bugs are about 1/5 inch long, with black bodies and white wings that fold over their backs. Insecticides are often used to control chinch bug populations. Common active ingredients include bifenthrin, cyfluthrin, and permethrin. Maintaining a healthy lawn can reduce chinch bug infestations. This includes regular mowing, proper irrigation, and fertilization.

We use a variety of chemicals to maintain your lawn if have our Lawn Care Service. We do place a sign in your lawn after every application. It is recommended that people and pets stay off the lawn for 24 hours after application and then it is safe for people and pets.

In your estimate we provide a detailed description of which month we are treating lawn and which month we are treating shrubs. However, every month we are always proactively addressing issues we might see on both.

New Lawn and Shrub Application Agreements begin generally 5-10 business days after an estimate has been approved and a credit card for billing has been obtained by our office. An email will be sent from our office that will inform our clients of their first service. Service days will change every month due fluctuations in weather and scheduling. Our clients will receive a text message, the day before each monthly service visit, letting them know our technician will be arriving the next business day.

We can only provide a general time frame for the tech’s arrival since their route can change based on the needs of their prior stops.  You don’t need to be home for the application, but if you would prefer a more specific time, the office can have the tech call you when he is on his way.

We do flag all properties when an application is finished, but if you don’t see a flag, please let us know and we will double-check with your technician. Please email any questions or contact our office at info@tayloranthony365.com and we will be happy to help you!  If email is not an option, you can call @ 904-230-3386

We recommend keeping kids and pets off the lawn for 24 hours after an application.  The application WILL NOT harm them, it is strictly to avoid having them track product into the house.

It is best to mow before an application. However, if you must mow after an application, it is probably best to wait until the next day. This will allow most liquid chemicals to absorb into the grass root system. If your lawn is scheduled to be mowed on the same day of an application, please let the office know and Taylor Anthony 365, will try to adjust the tech’s route to allow him to come after the grass is cut.

In most cases yes but not in all cases. Your technician who applies the application will let you know in his emailed Technician Notes, at the completion of service, if the application needs water.

If rain will negatively impact your application, this will be noted in the emailed Technician Notes and your Technician will notify you on next steps. Normally, this is never an issue.

An Account Manager will be assigned to manage your property and assist you with additional needs you may have on your property.

The price for a landscape maintenance and care program will vary from site to site. Receiving a proposal is simple. We will survey your site, evaluate the property’s needs, ask a few important questions, and develop a proposal that is customized to you.

Our Lawn Care services include fertilization, weed control, and other preventative services to ensure your lawn and shrubs are free of pests and diseases.

No. Clippings contain water and elements that are desirable for soil and turf. Your soil contains microbes and fungi that break down the clippings to a form usable by the plants. Also, these clippings will keep soil covered, minimizing evaporation. As the clippings decompose, they return organic matter to your soil, helping create tiny spaces (macropores and micropores) for water and air, improving percolation and fighting compaction.

Most landscape plants require some form of pruning, whether to preserve a loose, natural form, or to create tight, compact shapes. Each individual tree or shrub has its own, unique pruning needs, depending on variety, exposure and desired result. Unless you have formal hedges or topiaries, our pruning philosophy is to encourage the natural form of the plant.

Most of our in-season pruning focuses on removing spent blooms and removing dead or damaged limbs. It is equally important to know when not to prune. If you prune some species during the summer, you may limit the plant’s ability to produce another season’s interest (i.e. berries or fall blooms).

You can call our main line and our front office staff will put you in contact with your Account Manager.

Your Account Manager will assist you with your questions. Sometimes your question is very site specific, and the Account Manager will be best suited to answer these questions. It is not uncommon for our Account Manager to involve our Office Manager to quickly resolve any billing questions or requests for annual statements.

In the event of a rain day, we determine if our operations will be harmful to your landscape (i.e. create ruts, tracking of mud, etc.). If we decide it is best to postpone service, provide you with a reschedule notification via email. If you have any questions, your Account Manager can address any scheduling questions.

Because every property’s lawn is different, that is a question to ask your Account Manager. Aeration punches deep holes through thatch, turf, and compacted soil. Core aerators then deposit these plugs on top of the turf, where they eventually decompose. Over time, this process will de-compact soil, allowing for greater percolation. It also increases the surface area of the turf, encouraging beneficial aerobic bacterial and fungal growth.

Mulch beautifies your property — it reduces weeds, keeping maintenance to a minimum; retains ground moisture, reducing the need for watering; protects the roots from heat damage and reduces the need for constant fertilizing by enriching the soil.

Design & Installation FAQ's

Every project follows 6 Phases when creating a beautiful landscape project to ensure your complete satisfaction:

1). Meet and provide a free consultation

2). Create a landscape design

3). Agreement and Deposit

4). Scheduling

5). Installation

6). Final Walkthrough.

Each stage is important, and we have proven methods and experienced team members to make each part of your project an enjoyable experience and a beautiful result.

Either call our office at 904-230-3386 to set a convenient time to meet or use the contact us feature of our website to request a meeting. This meeting establishes your expectations and allows one of our landscape professionals to visit your property and recommend the best way to address your needs. This usually takes one of the following three approaches:

A simple proposal without a landscape plan when the needs are straightforward and the work can be identified during the initial meeting.

We will prepare an accurate landscape plan detailing the landscape improvements that you wish to create when the scope of your desired improvements merits the exploration of well thought out alternative solutions.

Lastly, we prepare preliminary plans to identify appropriate solutions for your consideration, leading to a final landscape plan that can be installed as one project or in phases over time.

There is no fee for the initial meeting.

An average landscape design for a front foundation planting project averages $600.00. We do require you to pay for the landscape design in advance. We accept Visa or Master Card. The design fee includes up to two revisions. There will be an additional design fee of $150.00, for more than two revisions. You will own the design when it is completed.

After our initial site meeting and agreement to work together, we begin our efforts by asking for your detailed preferences and by investigating your site.

Site research includes locating and identifying existing plant material, locating existing elements of the house (windows, doors, A/C condensers, etc.), photographing the site, and surveying the existing grades of your home and property, if needed.

We research any HOA restrictions that apply to your property. Once the research is done, we reference this information as we explore ideas and illustrate conceptual landscape designs that address your goals in different ways.

The concepts and budgets are reviewed with you to gain your input and to have your full involvement in developing the final landscape design and proposal for the landscape of your dreams.

This depends on the scope of the project. A typical front foundation planting could be completed within 2- 3 weeks of the acceptance of a proposal. A simple patio could be done within 3-4 weeks of issuance of the necessary permits. A full site development or redevelopment could take 3–6 weeks to plan, another 3-4 weeks to obtain permits and 4-12 weeks to install depending on the complexity of the project.

We would like to be involved in the planning process as soon as the thought crosses your mind. Late fall and winter are always a good time to start planning for the upcoming year. If you are planning on renovating your existing home or building a new home, we recommend our early involvement in the project. By being involved early, we help save existing plant materials, improve and minimize site drainage costs, coordinate interior issues that overlap with landscape issues and enhance the integration of architecture and landscape architecture for your property.

We can help you design something as simple as an elegant front walk to a new patio to a complete comprehensive site development including paver driveway, site grading and drainage, detailed gardens, entry and site walks, stone plant bed borders, water features/fountains, and beautiful plantings.

Unlike major home remodeling, the landscape of your dreams can be installed one small phase at a time. Understanding the desired phasing helps make sure the installation is done in the most cost-effective manner. Your project team will work with you to make sure you create the most appropriate phased landscape installation.
